With the holiday season approaching, there are many events taking place within the month of Nov. in Jacksonville. In order of events, the first notable date is Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016. Porchfest, a music-centered event in Jacksonville, will be taking place alongside the porches located in Historic Springfield downtown. Upon arrival, there will maps available for attendees in order to point out the twenty different stops and various genres of music. Everyone who arrives will have the opportunity to camp out on the lawns in front of various porches to enjoy the beautiful art form. It is a family friendly event for people of all ages and food vendors will be spread out around the area.

Following this is the JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival that will be taking place on Saturday, Nov. 12 from three to six p.m. alongside Park and King Streets in Riverside. It will host 12 venues and 25 writers. It is suggested that the attendees explore and check out all of the writers. Afterwards, there will be an afterparty on Rosselle Street in CoRK Arts District for ten dollars that will also include a book signing. Information about the writers and venues can be found online at

Likewise, CORK Arts District, a group of art studios in Jacksonville, will also be hosting their open studios event on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 12 to 8 p.m.. This is an annual fall event that is open to the public who are encouraged to tour the studios.
