Support Staff Spotlight: Bonnie Lamp

Maddie Morton

Staff Writer

Welcome to the Support Staff Spotlight!

Every other week, we will sit down with some of our amazing support staff and get to know them better. Those featured in each bi-weekly piece include staff in Custodial Services, Security, Front Desk, Behind the scenes/Student Activities, and our Cafeteria. Be sure to check-in every other week to meet the staff members who do so much for us and our school.

For this week’s Support Staff Spotlight, we have Bonnie Lamp, who works at a little bit of everything, although her official title is Activity Director!

Bonnie Lamp, Activity Director

The Artisan: Have you always lived in Jacksonville?
Lamp: No, I moved here in 2005.

Artisan: Where were you born and raised?
Lamp: Alabama.

Artisan: Are there any arts areas that we offer here at DA that you enjoy?
Lamp: I like vocal, I was in chorus growing up.

Artisan: How long have you been working here at DA?
Lamp: Since 2018.

Artisan: What do you do in your free time?
Lamp: I go to the beach, read and shop.

Artisan: What are your favorite parts of the beach?
Lamp: I like the beach because of the sound of the ocean waves and I can tan and be alone.

Artisan: What are your favorite books?
Lamp: My favorite book is The Notebook even if it sounds cheesy. I also like the book A time to Kill.

Artisan: You said you like to shop, what is your favorite store?
Lamp: Amazon so it can just come straight to my door.

Artisan: What is your favorite Disney princess?
Lamp: Jasmine because she’s so independent.

Artisan: If you could leave all the students here with some advice, what would it be?
Lamp: Always remember you are gold and don’t sweat the small stuff.
